At Performance+, we understand the importance of mental well-being and peak performance in athletic and other competitive endeavors. Athletes and performers face a unique set of stressors. We know this population is driven to achieve their goals, and unfortunately many athletes and performers are faced with barriers that could prevent this achievement. We know performance can feel overwhelming, exhausting, and like the expectations are unattainably high.

With our experience as mental performance consultants, psychotherapists, and athletes, we are passionate about supporting you on your journey to performance enhancement, enjoyment, balance, and overall mental wellness.


Who We Are

Olivia and Macy both graduated from Boston University’s Counseling and Sport Psychology Program. They both grew up as athletes; Macy competing in collegiate basketball and Olivia in club soccer. Olivia and Macy understand first-hand the importance of the demands athlete’s and performer’s endure as well as the effects on performance levels and mental health. We are dedicated to supporting you on your unique journey to reaching your performance goals and achieving mental well-being.

We believe that performance enhancement and mental wellbeing are achieved through collaboration of both the therapist and the performer. We view the performer as the expert in their own experiences, and our role is to create a safe, supportive, and unconditional environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Our goal is to build meaningful connections to encourage you towards growth and achieving your goals, both on and off the performance field.


What is Mental Performance

Mental performance refers to the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral factors that affect a performer’s ability to excel in their given field. It encompasses skills such as focus, concentration, motivation, confidence, resilience, and decision-making. Mental performance techniques are utilized to enhance performance, optimize potential, and overcome obstacles athletes and performers may face in training and competition. Mental performance is relevant to the fields of sport, music, acting, business, and many more.


What is Mental Health

Mental health relates to a performer’s overall psychological well-being. It involves emotional, social, and psychological factors that influence how individuals think, feel, and behave. Mental health encompasses areas such as stress management, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships, and coping strategies. Maintaining good mental health is crucial for a performer's overall quality of life and their ability to perform consistently at a high level.

At Performance+, we provide both group workshops and individual sessions for athletes and performers.
