Coping Skills D.I.Y.

Ages 7-12
6-week session beginning July 11th

Thursdays 4:00-5:00 pm
Cost: $50/child for each session (pay as you attend!)

Does your child struggle with anxiety, PTSD, or other emotional challenges?  This group will offer them an opportunity to build their own “Coping toolbox”, both literally and figuratively. Each week your child will create a new “tool” to add to their “toolbox”- from breathing exercises to sensory bottles, and everything in between.  At the end of the six weeks, your child will have their very own “toolbox” they can take home and new tools they can utilize when feeling overwhelmed. The last ten minutes of each session will include check-ins with supporting adults to review the tools created that week and how to utilize it to support your child.

Is your child diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum? Does your child struggle with challenging behaviors, such as difficulty listening, defiant behaviors, low frustration tolerance, or physical aggression?  Beginning Wednesday evenings, two parent support groups will be offered back to back. These groups will be a place for parents to come together in a safe environment to connect and discuss the daily challenges associated with raising and supporting neurodivergent children & young adults, process those challenges with others facing similar situations, and share thoughts and ideas that have worked for them. The groups will be led by a clinician with a background in both counseling and Special Education as well as experience in supporting children with multiple mental health diagnoses including anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and mood disorders.

Cybersafety for Teens

Ages 12-16

6-weeks beginning July 9
Tuesdays 4:00-5:00 pm

Cost: $50/child (pay as you attend!)

As children become teenagers, their presence and interaction with the internet becomes more prominent. With this increased use comes a host of safety concerns including bullying, catfishing, and exploitation which can lead to an increase in significant mental health issues. This group will focus on identifying the dangers associated with an increased presence online, as well as how to protect themselves from those dangers.  Additionally the group will address the negative impact of increased time spent on devices, and look to identify other “unplugged” interests to cultivate.  Class is flexible, and can be in person or online based on the interest & availability of the group.
