Sophia is a Clinical Intern and Social Media Coordinator at our practice. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Merrimack College.
Sophia brings a warm, down to earth, and relatable presence to her sessions with clients. She believes that therapy is most effective when built on a strong foundation of trust and connection between therapist and client. Her approach is holistic and individualized, drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques, particularly those that support regulating emotions and coping with stress and anxiety. She also utilizes mindfulness-based practices. Sophia is committed to trauma-informed, culturally responsive care, and works to ensure each client feels seen, heard, and supported.
Sophia is also passionate about utilizing nature as a healing tool, and strongly believes in the interconnection between mental health and the natural world. She believes that reconnecting with the natural world can be a powerful way to reconnect with oneself. As a strong advocate for de-stigmatizing mental health care, Sophia is dedicated to making therapy accessible, inclusive, and welcoming for all.
Sophia receives supervision from Karen Weinberg-LeClaire.
